The Value of Water Reuse Grows

As water costs continue to rise and the available resource itself becomes harder to get, a not-so-new practice of using treated wastewater from household or commercial properties for irrigation of public landscapes, commercial lots, and golf courses is gaining new momentum. HOW TO SAVE HALF THE WATER YOU USE DURING SUMMER

Talking to a water conservation specialist for just an hour can really be enlightening; especially when it’s Craig Miller of the Parker Water & Sanitation District, a proactive member of DCWater.org (Douglas County Water Resource Authority).  This super high energy horticulturalist/forester by trade is single-handedly educating, motivating, and transforming how homeowners, professional landscapers, and HOA’s in his community of about 40,000 residents use water. With visual photo illustrations, Craig puts on dozens of free workshops and classes around town explaining how people can easily cut their water use in half, not only to be more water-wise and to save money, but to actually improve the health of their landscapes.
